The International 5 metre class wooden yacht was created by the Union de Sociétés Nautiques Francaise in 1929. A roughly nine metre long yacht weighing 1700kg.

Also during the 20´s, a certain French-Russian chemist named Ernest Beaux, created the famous Eau de Perfume No.5 by Chanel.
